Feeding

Picture

1.    From 8 weeks old puppy must have 3 – 4 meals per day. It is okay
to feed puppy to appetite as they will not eat beyond the amount
       they naturally need.
2.    At 5 months cut down to 3 meals (increasing amount of food on
       other meals)
3.    At 8 months cut down to 2 meals (increasing amount of food in
       other meals)
4.    At 12 months he/she should be fed the same total quantity of
food in just 1 meal per day.
5.    Leave food down for about half hour then take away.
6.    Always leave clean water out for drinking..
8.    Take puppy outside 15 mins after food for toilet and regularly
        through the day.
9.    Sometimes the stress of moving to a new home can cause loose
stools and occasionally this may have slight traces of blood. If this
occurs do not worry as usually a diet of boiled chicken
and rice for 48hrs will help to restore normal bowel movement.
Should symptoms persist then please consult your vet
       for advice..

Bedtime

1.   How do I best settle puppy at night?
Put puppy in basket at night with hot water bottle and a
blanket with siblings scent on provided by the breeder
for first few nights and he/she shouldn’t cry
2.
Should I go back to puppy when it cries at night?
Start as you mean to go on.
Having made sure that there is nothing that can harm your
puppy (collars, hanging leads, cables and similar) then try not
to be tempted to go back in as they should settle down
        after 20 to 30 minutes.
3.
Can puppy pads go in puppy's sleeping crate / cage?
No as this will teach your puppy to use their bed as a toilet
.
